Soni General Store

Soni General Store is located on Jora Phatak Road over in the Dhansar part of Dhanbad. We are pretty close to Shakti Mandir Road, so there is always a lot of movement outside the door. My shelves are packed with everything from notebooks to washing powder. I don't really bother with big signs or anything. People just know we are here. The address is 828106 if you are looking at a map. Mornings are usually the busiest when everyone is heading out to work or school. They stop by for a quick snack or maybe some shampoo they forgot to buy. It gets dusty because of the road, so I spend a lot of time wiping down the jars. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance and it's a bit of a mess for an hour or so. I’ve been running this place for a long time. It’s not a corporate office, just a small shop where we handle cash and keep track of things in a notebook. The floor is a bit uneven in the back corner but it doesn't bother anyone. Most of our customers are neighbors who live just down the street. They come in to chat as much as they do to buy things. Jora Phatak Road is a loud place, but this shop is my second home. We keep the lights on until late evening most days. It’s just how we do things here in Dhansar.
