Down in Nirodgarh, which is another part of Pandua, we have this small setup. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it puts us right where the work is happening in the Hooghly district. The pin code says 712149 but we sometimes see 828205 on the old mail, which can be confusing for new delivery drivers. It’s a basic place with just enough room for our desks and the big rolls of drawings we use. We don’t have any fancy décor on the walls, just calendars and maybe a few old photos of finished bridges. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed until a deadline starts looming. Then everyone is moving fast and the tea runs out quickly. We like being out in the village because it’s peaceful when the workday ends. You can hear the birds and see the stars, which you don't get in the city. The office itself is practical—concrete floors and simple wooden chairs. It’s built to last, just like the things we help build outside. We don't spend money on looking good; we spend it on making sure the projects are solid. It’s a bit of a lived-in space, maybe a bit messy with all the files, but we know where everything is. Simplex Infrastructures Ltd has been in this area for a while now. That’s how we’ve always operated, just keeping things simple and working hard.
