Sikandar Kirana Store

Sikandar Kirana Store is also situated in Digwadih No. 10 in Dhanbad. We are a standard neighborhood grocery shop that has been serving this part of town for a good while. Our shop is filled with the kind of things every household needs, like cooking oil, rice, various lentils, and cleaning supplies. We don't have a large staff, so it is usually just us managing the counter and the stock. The shop is basic, with white-washed walls that have gotten a bit grey over the years and simple wooden shelves. We spend our mornings checking what needs to be ordered from the wholesalers and then the rest of the day is spent helping customers. It’s a busy area, and there is always some noise from the street. We have a lot of large metal bins for the loose grains and smaller boxes for things like matches and spices. It is a lot of physical work, especially when the new stock arrives and we have to carry everything inside. We don’t have a website or any fancy marketing. People just come here because they know we have what they need at a fair rate. It’s a very direct way of doing business. We stay open late into the evening because that is when a lot of people come home from work and realize they need something for their dinner. It’s just a regular part of life here.
