Our location in Dhanbad is right in Suryavihar Colony, just across from the CMRI Gate in Bartand. It’s a well-known spot in this part of Jharkhand. Working for Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Ltd here means we are right in the heart of the industrial vibe of the city. The office is a straightforward building. We don’t have any neon signs or flashy entrances. It’s just a gate and a door that stays open most of the day. Inside, it’s all about the work. We have maps of the local sites pinned to the walls and a lot of dust from the road that somehow always finds its way inside. We spend our time managing the local supply chain and keeping an eye on the various works happening around the district. The staff here is used to the grit of Dhanbad. We start our day early, usually around 8 or 9, and the first thing we do is check the site reports from the previous night. There’s a small tea stall just outside where we often stand and discuss the day’s problems. It’s easier to talk there than in a stuffy meeting room. We don't use much corporate jargon; we just say what needs to be said and get back to it. Our address in Suryavihar has become a bit of a landmark for our workers and vendors. It’s a busy, dusty, and very real place to work.
