Shambhu Store

Our shop is on Thana Road in Manbad, right here in Jharia. It’s quite close to the Jharia Thana, so everyone knows the general area. We started Shambhu Store to sell the things people need every day. You can find us on the main road. The street is always crowded with cycles and people walking. We keep the shop open early in the morning. It stays open until the sun goes down and even a bit after. Inside, it's just shelves filled with bottles and boxes. We have different kinds of snacks that the kids like. The floor is concrete and a bit worn out from all the walking. We don't have air conditioning, just a fan that makes some noise. It gets hot in Dhanbad during the summer. We try to keep the water bottles cool at least. People from the nearby houses come to get their monthly groceries. We talk about the local news while I pack their bags. It feels like a small community here.
