Our shop, Pure And Sure, is situated on Bokaro Road in the Kendua area of Kusunda, Dhanbad. We have been operating in this 828116 zip code for a while now. The name is something we picked because we wanted people to feel okay about what they are buying here. We mostly sell everyday items that families in Kusunda need for their kitchens and houses. Being on the main road means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are just passing through Jharkhand on their way somewhere else, while others have lived here their whole lives. The shop is simple and we don’t spend money on fancy displays or big advertisements. We just put the items on the shelves and let people look around. The traffic outside can be quite loud, especially with the heavy vehicles that use this road. Sometimes the supply chain is slow and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow for certain things. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure the place stays running. It is a practical life. We focus on having the basics like salt, flour, and tea. The weather in Dhanbad can be very hot, so we try to keep the shop as cool as possible with a couple of old fans.
