You will find us over in Sahyogi Nagar Sector-II, which is right near the Saraidhela area. We are working out of the space at Sudhangsu Banerjee’s place for the time being. Dhanbad is a very busy area with lots of dust from the coal mines and the constant traffic on the main road. Our team is usually out on the actual site, so the office stays mostly quiet unless someone is in there checking the blueprints or the latest maps. We have got a lot of tools scattered around and the phone rings a lot more than it probably should. The weather out here in Jharkhand gets really intense during those long summer months. We all drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when we are not actively pouring concrete. It takes a whole lot of coordination to get the heavy materials delivered on time through these narrow little streets. Sometimes the gravel shows up late and we just have to adjust our plans for the day. We are not big on having fancy meetings or writing long, polished emails. We just talk at the site and figure out what needs doing before the sun goes down. If a machine breaks down, we fix it and keep going. Most of us have been in this business for years, so we know the drill. It is a lot of manual labor and making sure the levels are right. We keep the site as tidy as possible, though it is usually a losing battle.
