Maneo Kirana Store

Maneo Kirana Store is right in the middle of Kendua Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Kusunda in Dhanbad, you know how crowded the market can get on certain days. Our shop is packed with bags of rice, pulses, and all the usual kitchen supplies. It smells like spices and jute bags inside. We spend a lot of time weighing things out and tying up small parcels for customers. It’s a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. The bazar is loud, with vendors shouting and bikes honking, but inside the store, it’s a bit more focused. We deal with a lot of regulars from the surrounding blocks. They come in with their lists, and we go through them one by one. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the next truck to arrive from the main city. That’s just part of running a kirana business in a place like this. The floor is concrete and stays a bit cool even when it’s boiling outside. We don't have fancy displays, just shelves and bins that hold the stock. My family has been involved in this for quite a while. We know the prices of dal and oil by heart. It’s honest work, even if the days are long. When the evening comes and the market lights go on, things slow down a little bit. We tidy up the loose grains and get ready for the next day. It's a simple life.
