Mama Store

If you go towards the Shyam Mandir in Jharia, you'll find Mama Store. It’s a small shop, mostly serving the local families and those visiting the temple area. We’ve been operating here in Dhanbad for a good while now. It’s a simple setup—just some racks, a counter, and whatever stock we could fit in the back. We sell the basic things people need every day. You know, the kind of stuff you realize you forgot only after you start cooking. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us working the shifts. The area gets really lively during festivals, and that’s when we’re the busiest. Otherwise, it’s a quiet routine of opening up early and closing down once the street gets empty. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a torch to find things, but we get by. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in town, just a reliable place where you get a fair price and a honest deal. People around here call it Mama Store because that's just how it started and the name stuck. It feels like home being here. Nothing fancy, no big displays, just a counter and someone ready to help you find a packet of salt or some tea leaves. It’s a basic life but a good one, and we like the people who stop by to shop.
