Maa Bhagwati General Store

Maa Bhagwati General Store is located right on Chandmari Road in Joraphatak. We are in the Dhansar area of Dhanbad, near Shakti Mandir. The pin code is 828106. Because we are near the temple, we get a lot of people coming in for small things before they go for their prayers. I keep things like incense sticks and matches right near the front. The rest of the shop is filled with general groceries. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside if more than three people come in at once. I try to keep the floor clean, but with the dust from the road, it’s a constant battle. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but I haven’t had the time to get to it yet. I work long hours, from early morning until the street lights come on. My wife helps me pack the smaller bags of sugar and tea leaves in the evenings. We don't have a big sign with lights, just the name painted above the door. People find us anyway. It’s a busy neighborhood and there’s always something happening outside. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little bit, and we have to put up some boards to keep the water out. It's just a regular local shop trying to provide what the people in Dhansar need.
