Laxmi General Store

Laxmi General Store is located in Matkuria, right on the main Katras Road here in Dhanbad. We have been operating out of this same building for quite some time. It is a typical general store where we try to stock a little bit of everything so people don't have to wander all over town. From soaps and shampoos to snacks and basic kitchen supplies, we keep it all in one small space. The shop is usually a bit dark inside because the sun doesn't reach the back shelves, but we know our way around. Matkuria is a crowded place and we have a lot of people stopping by on their way home from work. We don't bother with any big decorations or marketing tricks. We just put the goods out where people can see them. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when the shop is empty to catch a bit of breeze. The sounds of the horns and the street vendors are always in the background. We have seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own houses now. It is a steady life and we are happy to be part of the community. Nothing about the store is polished or perfect, it is just a workplace for us and a pantry for the neighbors.
