Janta Store

Janta Store is located over by Kendua Pool in Kusunda, right near the old Exchange Office. Having that office nearby helps people find us easily when they are looking for the shop. We carry a variety of household goods that folks in Dhanbad use every day. It’s the kind of place where you can find a replacement bucket, some rope, or just basic kitchen items. The store is tucked into a busy stretch of road, so there is always something happening outside. We open up early and usually stay until the street lights come on. It’s a bit of a walk from the main market, but people around the Exchange Office find us convenient. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things pretty high. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to reach the top shelf, but we have a small stool for that. We don't have any fancy signs or bright lights. It’s just a plain storefront where we do our business. Most of our customers are neighbors who have lived in Kusunda for generations. We talk about the weather or the local news while we pack their bags. It’s a very local way of living. We don't spend money on marketing; our reputation comes from just being here every day. It’s hard work sometimes, especially in the summer heat, but it’s what we know. We just take things one day at a time here at the store.
