Dilip General Store

Dilip General Store has its home in Janta Market, which is in the Bartand area of Dhanbad. We are located near the NIIT building, so we get a lot of students coming in throughout the day. They usually look for pens, notebooks, or just something to eat between their classes. Dhanbad is known for its coal, and you can definitely feel that grit in the air sometimes. We have to be careful to keep the shop clean. We sell the usual mix of things you would expect in a general store, like tea, sugar, and basic medicines. The market is always loud with people talking and vehicles passing by. Our shop is just one of many, but we have our regular customers who have been coming to us for years. We don't have a big corporate team; it is just a few of us handling the customers and the inventory. The space is filled with the smell of different spices and cleaning products. We don't try to be anything we are not. It’s just a place to buy what you need without any fuss. The shelves are a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but it works for us. We just keep doing our work every day and make sure we have enough change in the cash box. Life in Bartand is busy, but we just take it one customer at a time.
