Datta Kirana Store

Out here on Sindri Road, things can get pretty loud with all the trucks passing through. Datta Kirana Store is right at the Katras More in Jharia. We have been in this spot for years, dealing with the coal dust and the heat of Dhanbad. The shop is small and we have stuff crammed into every corner. We mostly sell the things you need every day like tea leaves, soap, and pulses. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. The floor is just concrete and it shows the wear of many feet walking over it. We open up early in the morning because the workers start their day before the sun is even fully up. Jharia is a tough place to work, but we are used to it. We keep our prices fair because we know everyone in the neighborhood. You won't find any shiny displays or big advertisements here. Just rows of jars filled with biscuits and candies for the kids. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a small lamp to see the stock. It is just a plain, simple business helping the local families get their groceries without any fuss. Being on the way to Sindri means we see a lot of travelers stopping for a quick bottle of water or some snacks to eat on the road.
