Brindavan General Store

We are located over in Rahargora, specifically in the Dhaiya area of Dhanbad. It is an interesting spot because we are quite close to the Indian School of Mines and not far from where the Prabhatam Mall is. You can see the change in the neighborhood, with new buildings going up, but our store stays pretty much the same. We carry a bit of everything that a household might need. Students from the university often wander in looking for notebooks, snacks, or maybe some washing powder for their hostel rooms. The store is packed from floor to ceiling. Sometimes I think we have too much stuff because it can be hard to reach the top shelves without a ladder. It is a dusty area because of all the mining and construction around Dhanbad, so keeping the glass jars clean is a never-ending task. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns sitting at the front. The evenings are usually the busiest when people are heading back from work and realize they are out of salt or cooking oil. We have a small bench outside where some of the older men sometimes sit and talk for a while. It is a neighborhood store through and through, even with the big mall coming up nearby. We just keep our heads down and serve the people who have been coming here for years.
