Bhola Kirana Store

Living and working in Dhanbad means you get used to the dust and the busy streets. Our shop, Bhola Kirana Store, is located right in Chiragora. It is very close to the Vdo Office, which means there are always people moving around. Most of our day is spent weighing out pulses or packing sugar for the families who live nearby. We carry the usual stuff you’d expect in a kirana shop. It’s not a complicated business. We just stock what people need for their kitchens. Sometimes the supplies arrive late because of the trucks, but we manage. Chiragora is a noisy place during the day, but it’s our home. We’ve been here for a while now. The office workers often stop by to pick up small things on their way back. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cramped when it’s raining outside and everyone wants to stay dry. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights. It’s just a simple storefront where you can get your daily groceries. We try to keep things organized, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. Running a kirana store is about knowing what the neighbors want. It’s a lot of standing and talking to people, which is fine by us. Dhanbad keeps us busy and we just keep the doors open for whoever needs some rice or soap or other household things to get through the week.
