Ashok General Syotre

I know the name on the board might look a bit different but that's just how it's been for a while. The shop isn't very large. It’s filled with crates and sacks of stuff. I try to keep it organized but it's hard when new stock arrives every few days. I spend a lot of time talking to the suppliers about prices. Dhanbad is a busy town and Chandmari Road is no exception. There is always a tractor or a bike making noise outside. I open the shutters pretty early, usually before the sun gets too high. The air smells like dust and diesel from the street. Inside, I’ve got biscuits, soap, and all the regular household items. It's a bit cramped, honestly. You have to watch your step so you don't trip on a bag of flour. But people don't seem to care about that. They just want their groceries so they can get home. I write down what people owe me in a thick register with a red cover. It's a practical way to run things. We’ve been here in Dhansar for years, just serving the people who live nearby. It's steady work.
