Indian Shellac Industries

Indian Shellac Industries sits right on Sihawa Road in the Danitola area. It is a place that smells a bit like resin and old wood, which is part of the whole shellac process we do here. The building has been around for a bit and it shows its age in some spots, but it’s sturdy enough for the work. We spend most of our time processing the raw materials that come in from the surrounding regions. It is a bit of a dusty job, and your hands usually end up stained by the end of the shift. We don't have a lot of fancy machines; it's more about knowing how to handle the stuff properly and having a bit of patience. The road outside can get pretty busy with tractors and local traffic, so there is always something to watch during a break. We are a small group of people who have been doing this for years, and we don't feel the need to change much about how we operate. It works for us and it works for the people who buy from us. Sometimes the weather makes the shellac dry slower than we want, but you can't really fight nature. We just keep the bags moving and the floors swept as best we can. It’s a quiet life in Danitola, just doing what we know how to do without any fuss. The days are long but we like the routine.
