Ambey Agro Food Industries Private Limited

The place where we work is out on Dhamtari Road, right near Sai Nagar in Abhanpur. It’s a bit of a drive out from the main city center of Raipur, which gives us more space to breathe and work. We are in the agro-food industry at Ambey Agro Food Industries Private Limited, so we deal with a lot of stuff that comes directly from the local farms. The area around Abhanpur is mostly open fields and other small businesses that have been here for years. Our facility is pretty basic—just some sheds and an office area where we handle the administration. It gets quite dusty on Dhamtari Road with all the trucks passing by throughout the day. We start our day early when the air is still cool and the sun isn't too strong yet. There's a lot of physical work involved, moving heavy bags around and checking the stuff we receive to see if it's okay. We aren't some high-tech company; we just use the tools we have and our own hands to get the job done. The staff is mostly local people from the nearby villages who have been with us for a long time. We don't use fancy titles or have long meetings in boardrooms. We just talk about what needs to happen today and then we go out and do it. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it ourselves with a wrench. It's a very hands-on kind of business.
