Ravidas Leather & Goods

Our shop and workshop is at 57/10 Nei Abadi on Dewas R. P. Road. You can usually smell the leather before you even walk through the door. It is a strong, earthy scent that stays on your clothes all day. We have stacks of hides in different corners, some thick and some thin. Most of our day is spent cutting pieces of leather or using the heavy-duty machines to stitch them together. We make various goods, mostly practical things that people use every day. The tools we use are old but they still work fine. There is a lot of dust from the sanding and the edges of the leather, so we are always sweeping the floor. It is a small team here, just a few of us who know how to handle the material. Leather is tricky to work with because if you make a mistake, you can't really hide it. R. P. Road is a busy place, so there is always noise from the street coming in. We don't have a showroom with bright lights, just some shelves where we put the finished bags and items. People from the neighborhood stop by to get things repaired or to see what we have made recently. It is just a steady, quiet kind of business where we focus on the material and our hands. We take our time to finish each piece correctly before we put it on the shelf for someone to buy.
