Meera Shree Education Foundation

Meera Shree Education Foundation is based in Bhatni, Deoria. We are at House Number 81, in Ward Number 12, over in Behradaber. It’s a bit of a way into the Salempur area. This is a small place and we run the foundation from here. We don't have a big fancy office building. It’s more of a community-focused spot. We have a few chairs and a large table where we sit and plan our activities. Most of what we do involves helping people with their education needs in the local village. We have some shelves filled with old books and folders. The house is old but it stays cool in the summer. We spend a lot of our time out in the neighborhood talking to families. When we are in the office, we are usually writing letters or keeping records in our ledgers. We don't use much technology besides a basic laptop and our phones. It’s a very personal way of doing things. My neighbor stops by sometimes to help with the cleaning. We drink tea and discuss how to get more books for the kids. It’s not a corporate environment at all. It feels like a home because it mostly is. We are just local people trying to do something useful for our town. The road outside can get muddy when it rains so we keep some mats at the door. We have a small lamp on the main table.
