Demsa Bhavishya Nidhi Limited is based out of Ramanand Prasad’s house, number 137/K, in Lakhopar, Bhatpar Rani. Deoria is where we call home and where we do all our work. We started this small venture to give the local community a hand with their savings and small credit needs. It’s not a big corporate setup with a glass front. It’s more like a neighborhood office where you can walk in and sit down for a chat on a plastic chair. We handle the daily tasks of keeping track of deposits and helping folks get small loans for their personal use or maybe to fix up their house. We aren’t trying to be anything we aren’t. We are just people from the village working for the village. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts or slow days when it’s too hot to walk outside, but we stay consistent. The office has what we need—a few sturdy desks, some ledger books, and a computer that works most of the time. We know the people who come to us because we see them at the market or in the street every single day. That trust is really important to us. We don’t use flashy marketing or big promises that we can't keep. We just tell people what we can do and then we do it. It’s a practical way to run a business. We hope to stay here as long as we can.
