Divya General Store

If you find yourself in Lalmatia Village, you will probably pass by Divya General Store. We are located in the Boarijor Tehsil part of Godda District. The State Bank of India is right nearby, so there are always people hanging around the area waiting for their bank work to finish. Our shop is quite simple. We sell a bit of everything that people in the village might need in a hurry. From washing soap to loose biscuits, it is all here on the shelves. The wooden racks are a bit old now. We have lived here a long time, so we know most of the families in the area by name. It is a quiet village for the most part, except for when the harvest is happening. Then everyone is out and about. We do not have any big advertisements or glowing signs. People just know where we are. Usually, there is a stray dog sleeping near the entrance because it is a bit cooler there. We spend the morning stocking up and the evening talking to neighbors who stop by for a single item they forgot to buy at the bigger market in town. It is not a huge business, but it belongs to us. Running a general store in a place like Godda means you have to be patient. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the doorway until it comes back. It is a slow pace.
