With My Father Contractor

This is a family thing, just me working with my father as a contractor. Our setup is called With My Father Contractor. We are located in Vinay Gali, Nurpur, which is in Ward No. 4 of District Kangra, Himachal Pardesh, India. Being up here in the mountains is nice, though the roads can be tricky for the trucks. My dad started this a long time ago and I just joined in to help him out with the business. We do mostly local contracting work. It’s not a huge operation with lots of employees. It’s usually just us and a few helpers we hire when a bigger job comes up. Our office is basically a room in the house where we keep the tools and the old ledger. People in the village know my father well, so they just stop by when they have a project in mind. We don't really do ads or any of that stuff. We talk about the work over dinner sometimes, which my mom hates because she wants a break from it. It’s hard to keep work and home separate when you live where you work. We handle everything from small repairs to bigger building tasks around Kangra. The weather affects us a lot, especially during the monsoon season when everything slows down to a crawl. We just take things as they come. It’s honest work and we try to do it right. It’s good to work with family, even if we argue about where the tools went.
