Winspree Fashions

Winspree Fashions is based out of New Delhi. We don’t have one of those big, flashy offices in a corporate park; we mostly do our work from our own setup in a quieter corner of the city. Delhi is always moving so fast, with the noise and the crowds, so we try to just focus on what’s in front of us. Our day is usually spent looking at different fabrics and sketching out ideas for clothes. It’s a lot of trying things out and seeing what actually works in real life. Sometimes we get a design that looks good but the fabric just doesn't sit right, so we have to start all over again. We have a small group of people here who do everything, from picking the materials to the final sewing. The workspace usually ends up covered in scraps of cloth and loose threads by lunchtime. We try to keep it organized, but it’s hard when you’re in the middle of a big order. We aren’t really trying to do anything groundbreaking or fancy, we just want to make decent clothes that people feel comfortable wearing. Some days are quieter and we spend a lot of time drinking tea and planning, and other days we’re running around to meet a shipping deadline. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, but we enjoy the freedom of being a smaller team in a place as huge as Delhi. It keeps things interesting and there’s always something new to deal with every morning when we open up.
