We’ve been working out of Unit 903 in Pearl Heights Tower 1 for a while now. It’s right there in Netaji Subhash Place, which is always busy with people heading to Max Hospital or the metro. The office gets a lot of light in the mornings, though the air conditioning takes a bit to kick in sometimes. Most of us get here around nine, dodging the traffic near Wazirpur. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and handling calls or emails for people overseas. Some days it’s quiet, other days it’s just loud with everyone talking at once. We usually grab lunch from the stalls downstairs or bring stuff from home. Pitampura is a crowded place, but it’s easy to find whatever you need around the corner. The building is okay, the elevators can be slow when it’s peak time. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks. There’s a stack of papers on the corner desk that never seems to go away. It’s just how it is. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due, and the view of the city lights from the ninth floor isn't half bad. You can see the cars crawling along the main road. It’s a regular office life, nothing fancy about it. We just make sure the work gets done before we head home to our families. Some days we have tea together near the window. It helps break up the long hours.
