Verma Cables

Verma Cables is tucked away at No. 6/9 on the ground floor of Gali No. 4. We are in Vishwas Nagar, which is part of the Shahdara area. If you have ever been to Vishwas Nagar, you know it is famous for wires and cables, and we are just one of the many shops trying to make a living. The ground floor is convenient for moving heavy spools of wire, but the gali is very narrow, so it is a struggle when we have a big delivery. We do not have a fancy cooling system, just a few fans that move the hot air around. It gets very busy during the day with workers and buyers walking past. We are not a corporate entity with a HR department or anything like that. It is just me and a couple of helpers who have been with us for years. We know our cables inside and out, but we do not use marketing talk to sell them. We just tell people what the gauge is and what it can handle. The shop is usually a bit messy with cut ends of wire on the floor, but we try to sweep up every evening. Shahdara is a tough place to work because of the heat and the crowds, but it is where our business is. We just keep doing what we know, day after day. It is not fancy, but it is our way of making a living in this city.
