If you ever find yourself in Hauz Qazi, specifically around Peepal Mahadev, you might see Vinod Trading Co. We are at Shop Number 1 in Manohar Market. It’s a small shop, but it’s packed from floor to ceiling with stuff. We’ve been here for years, and sometimes I think the walls are held up by the stock we carry. The market is always crowded. There’s a constant sound of rickshaws, people shouting, and the smell of tea from the corner stall. It’s a bit chaotic, but we’re used to it. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we help each other out when things get busy. Handling a trading business in this part of town means you have to be quick and know your inventory by heart. There isn’t much room for a desk, so we usually just stand or sit on a small stool near the entrance. Some days are slow and we just chat with whoever walks by, while other days we don’t even have time to eat lunch. The shop isn’t much to look at, just a regular place in an old market. But it’s where we do our business every day. We don’t need anything fancy to get the job done. We just keep track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. It is a bit cramped and messy, but it works for what we do.
