Ripsi Fabrics

Gali No. 20 in Vijay Park is where you’ll find us. Ripsi Fabrics is basically just a room full of cloth rolls tucked away in Maujpur. The area is always crowded, and our street is no different. You really have to watch your step with all the carts and people moving around. We’ve been in this spot at V-259 for quite a while now. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep as much variety of fabric as we can fit. The lighting isn't the best in the back, but we know where every single roll is kept. We spend a lot of time unrolling fabric for people to look at and then rolling it back up again. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, actually. The dust from the textiles gets everywhere, so we’re always having to wipe things down. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. It's just the shop and our regulars who know how to find us. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside on the steps for a bit until it comes back on. That's just life in this part of town. We don't mind it much. Most of our customers are locals or people who have been coming to Maujpur for years. We know most of them by face, if not by name. It’s just a simple way to make a living. We don't use any high-tech systems, just a notebook and a pen.
