Vardhman Cable Co. is based out in the Friends Colony Industrial Area. It’s a wide-open space compared to the city markets, but it still gets busy with all the trucks and loaders moving around. Our facility is mostly just a big warehouse where we store and cut various types of cables. There is always the smell of rubber and copper in the air. We have these massive wooden reels that take up most of the floor space, and moving them requires a bit of effort. The office is just a small partitioned corner with a couple of desks and a filing cabinet that sticks every time you try to open the bottom drawer. We don’t have any marketing people or a sales team in ties. It’s just us in our work boots, making sure the measurements are right before we ship anything out. The industrial area can be a bit quiet in the evenings, which is a nice change from the morning rush. We usually have a pot of tea going on a small stove in the corner. Most of our day is spent checking the gauges and making sure the insulation on the wires is thick enough. It’s repetitive work, but it’s important to do it right. We don’t talk much about visions or goals; we just focus on the list of deliveries for the day and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad on the main road.
