You can find us at Madhusudan Swain’s place in Dikhitapara, which is under the Khanata post office in Khurda. We are part of Unity Infraprojects Ltd. and this is where we run things for our Orissa projects. It’s a very local setup, nothing like those big corporate offices you see in the capital. We have a couple of phone numbers listed, 09937187542 and 09896549766, and one of us is usually around to pick up, unless we are out at a site where the signal is bad. Life here is a bit slower than the big cities, but the work is just as demanding. We deal with a lot of infrastructure projects that require a lot of hands-on management. The office is really just a room where we keep the records and meet with the local workers. We don't have fancy furniture, just the essentials to get the job done. Often, we are out in the sun most of the day and only come back here in the evening to finish the paperwork. The community here knows us, and we try to keep things straightforward. There is a lot of coordination involved in moving materials across the district. We drink plenty of water and tea while we discuss the project timelines. It is honest work and we are just local people trying to finish the projects we started. We hope the monsoon doesn't delay our current outdoor work too much.
