We operate out of number 45 in the Jamia Teacher’s Hostel area in Jamia Nagar. It’s a unique spot to be, right near the university campus. There’s always a lot of students and academic energy around, though our office is much more mundane than a classroom or a lecture hall. The rooms we have are basic. We have some sturdy tables and chairs and a few shelves for all the documents we have to keep track of. It’s a relatively quiet corner of the city, which is nice when you’re trying to focus on numbers and letters all day long. We get a lot of mail because of where we are located. Sometimes the address confuses people because it's associated with the hostel, but we have our own separate space inside. It’s not a polished corporate environment. The floor is tile and we have some old posters on the walls that have been there for ages. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website to speak of. We just do the work that comes our way. Lunch usually involves someone bringing food from home and sharing it in the back room. We have a small window that looks out onto the trees, which is a nice break from looking at the screen. It’s a very human way of working, with all the little distractions and chores that come with running a small office in a place like J.M.I. We just keep things moving.
