Paschimi Garments

Paschimi Garments is tucked away at Rz- 3 Street No. 5 in the Tuglakabad Extension. This area is a real maze if you don't know your way around. The streets are narrow and there are garment shops everywhere. We are just one of many, but we’ve been here a long time. Our space is on the ground floor, which makes it easier to move the big bags of clothes. We have a row of sewing machines that stay busy most of the day. The sound of the needles is constant. It’s a very local feel here. Neighbors pop in to chat while we’re working. We make all sorts of garments, mostly stuff for everyday wear. We don't have a designer or anything like that. We just follow the patterns that people want. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it tough to work, so we start very early in the morning. Tuglakabad is a crowded place, and sometimes the delivery trucks can't even get down our street. We have to carry the bundles out to the main road. It’s a lot of physical effort. We don't mind it though. It’s our livelihood. We just keep sewing and packing, hoping the next month is as busy as the last one. It is just a regular life in the extension. We don't need much more than a working machine and some good thread to keep us going.
