R. K Trading Company

R. K Trading Company is found on the first floor at No. 1440/100 in Ganesh Pura, which is part of the Trinagar area. Being on the first floor means we have to carry everything up and down a set of stairs that aren't very wide. It is a bit of a workout every time a new shipment arrives. The office space is packed with rows of shelves that hold all our inventory, and there isn't much room to walk around once the boxes start arriving. We have an old desk with a glass top where most of the business happens, and the drawers are usually stuffed with receipts and pens that barely work. Trinagar is a very tight-knit commercial area, so we are always talking to the other traders on our floor or the ones downstairs. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it is on high speed, but it keeps the heat away during those long July afternoons. We spend a lot of time on the phone, talking to transporters and checking on where the goods have reached. It is not the kind of place with a fancy lobby or carpets. It is just a regular trading office where the work never really stops from Monday to Saturday. We know the tea seller downstairs by name, and he brings us chai at the same time every afternoon without us even asking.
