Kasturba Gandhi Marg is always packed with people and cars, so getting into the building can be a bit of a scramble in the morning. Inside Timex Watches Ltd., it’s a lot of desks and the sound of keyboards clicking. It doesn’t feel like a big corporate showroom; it’s more of a place where people sit and handle the back-end stuff. We have clocks on the walls, obviously, and they all show the same time, which is actually kind of relaxing if you think about it. The windows look out over the city, and you can see the tops of the trees and the other tall buildings around Connaught Place. It’s a bit of an older building, so there’s a certain smell to the hallways, like old paper and floor cleaner. We mostly stick to our routines, checking schedules and making sure the distribution lists are correct. There is always someone coming in or out with a delivery or a file. Lunch is usually eaten at the desks or someone goes down to the street to grab something quick. It’s a steady kind of environment. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the furniture definitely shows its age in some places, but it works for what we need to do. It doesn't need to be flashy to get the job done.
