We operate out of Nsic Bhavan in the Okhla Industrial Estate in New Delhi. This place is the hub for The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. If you’re looking for the Manager of Works, that’s where the office is located. It’s a busy industrial area, so there is always noise and trucks moving around outside. We deal with a lot of different aspects of small industries and supporting how they work. The building itself has been here for a long time and it feels like an old government-style office with lots of files and people moving between departments. It’s not the quietest place to work but it’s right in the middle of where all the manufacturing happens. We spend our time looking over projects and handling the various needs of the industrial units nearby. There is a lot of coordination involved, mostly making sure the infrastructure for these small businesses is actually working. Dealing with New Delhi traffic is a whole thing on its own, but being in Okhla means we are close to the action. It’s mostly about managing the day-to-day operations and making sure the works side of things doesn't fall behind. We don't have any fancy displays or anything, just a lot of desks and people trying to get through their paperwork. It’s a practical setup for the kind of industrial support we provide. People come in with all sorts of questions about machines or factory space, and we do our best to point them in the right direction. It's a lot of logistical work and sitting through meetings to get things approved.
