We are located at Shalimar Bagh 14, and it’s a pretty steady place to work. The shop has been here for a bit, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. Most days are about the same. We come in, turn on the lights, and start checking what sold the day before. The shelves are packed with all those colorful bottles. Some are green, some are pink, and they all have different smells. We spend a good chunk of the morning just straightening things up because people like to open the lids and sniff things. The floor is a light color, so every bit of dirt shows up, which means we spend a lot of time with the broom. It’s not a huge place, but it feels big when you’re the one cleaning it. The street outside gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home. We usually keep the door propped open if the weather is nice, which lets in some fresh air. There’s a small desk in the corner where we keep the paperwork and the phone. It’s nothing special, just a workspace. We like being in this part of town because it feels lived-in and real. There’s a bakery nearby, so sometimes we get the smell of bread mixed in with our soaps. It’s just a normal day at the shop for us, keeping the stock ready for the locals.
