About The Art Of Indian Textiles – Fashion & Trends in Delhi
You can find us at No. 6/81 in Old Rajinder Nagar. This place has been in the family for a few years. It is a bit cramped inside because we have so many rolls of fabric piled up. We deal in Indian textiles, which means a lot of cotton, some silk, and whatever else we can find that looks good. The shop is on a busy street, so there is always dust coming in. We try to keep the fabrics covered, but it’s a constant battle with the broom. We don't have any of those fancy mannequins in the window. We just hang a few pieces of cloth to show what came in this week. The lighting isn't the best, so sometimes we have to take a roll of fabric out to the front door so the customer can see the real color in the sunlight. It is a bit of a process. We aren't trying to be a big fashion house. We just provide the material for people who want to make their own clothes. A lot of local tailors send their customers to us. We have a small stool in the corner where people can sit if they are tired. It isn't a fancy setup. It’s just a place where you get honest fabric for a decent price. We stay here until the evening most days when the street lights come on.
