In New Delhi, when the summer hits, everyone starts calling us at once. Our shop is over in Munirka, at 283/C, and it gets pretty hectic around there. It’s mostly just us hauling tools and gas cylinders up and down stairs all day. Delhi houses weren't always built with easy access for maintenance, so we spend a lot of time on ladders or leaning out of windows. We handle all sorts of units, from the old window ones that make a racket to the newer split systems. It’s dusty work and you end up quite tired by the evening, but that’s just the job. We don’t spend much time sitting in the office because if we’re sitting, we aren’t making money. My clothes are usually covered in some kind of grease or dust by noon. We try to get to everyone as fast as we can, but when it’s forty-five degrees outside, the list of repairs just keeps growing. We’ve been in Munirka for a good bit now, so the locals know where to find us. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy, just a bunch of guys who know how to fix a cooling system when it’s failing.
