Being over in Ramesh Nagar at 3/113 on the first floor puts us right near Kirti Nagar, which is always busy with people looking for things for their homes. You can hear the saws and the hammers from the shops nearby almost all day long. The office is a bit of a walk-up, and the stairs are a little narrow if you are carrying large samples. Inside, Swagat Interiors is basically a room full of fabric books, wood chips, and floor tiles scattered around. It’s not very organized, but we know where most things are when we need them. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and trying to figure out if a certain shade of blue is going to work under different lights. The windows let in a bit of dust from the street, so we are always wiping things down. It’s a practical space. We don't have a showroom with fancy displays because we prefer to just show the real materials. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the shop downstairs while we go over drawings. It is a bit noisy sometimes, but that’s just part of being in this part of town. We just focus on the projects and try to keep everything moving along without too much trouble. Sometimes we get stuck on a design for days, but eventually, the right idea comes together. We like it here because it feels like we are in the middle of all the action.
