Summer Fashion

We have been operating out of Shaheen Bagh for quite some time now. Our place is at A-58 on Street No. 6, which is in the extension near Kalindi Kunj. If you know the Okhla area, you know it gets pretty busy, especially with the traffic in the evenings. Summer Fashion is just a small local business. We don't have any fancy glass windows or big neon signs. It’s just a regular building where we do our work every day. Most of the time, the shop is filled with stacks of different fabrics and finished clothes waiting to be moved. It’s usually just me and a couple of others handling everything from opening up in the morning to locking up at night. The summer heat in Delhi can be really something else, making the workspace quite warm, but we just keep the fans running and get on with it. We don't really do any big advertising or have a polished website. People usually find us because they live nearby or someone told them about us. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting boxes and checking through every piece of clothing. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we just fix them and move on. It’s a practical way to run things. We’ve seen many businesses come and go on Street No. 6, but we’ve managed to stay put. We just focus on what’s right in front of us. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s ours and we do it steadily. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside.
