Our office is tucked away on the third floor over in Kilokri. A/140 is the building, right near Maharani Bagh. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially when the lift is acting up, which happens more than we'd like. We do structural work mostly on computers these days. The view from the window isn't much, just some rooftops and a bit of the main road. It gets noisy in the afternoons. There’s about four or five of us usually here at once. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints and trying to make sure the math works out. Lunch is usually whatever someone brought from home or something quick from the shop downstairs. It’s a regular spot, nothing too special to look at. We keep the files organized as well as we can, though things tend to pile up during a busy week. Sometimes clients come by and we have to clear off a chair for them to sit. We’ve been at this for some time now. Dealing with the Delhi weather is always part of the job. In the winter it’s nice, but the summer makes the computers run loud. We just focus on the plans in front of us. It’s honest work, and we like being in this part of town because it feels like the middle of everything. No one here wears a suit, we just come in and do the work and then head home.
