Store Assistant

Our spot is right by the Mumbra railway station, up on the fourth floor of Kulsum Manzil. Being near the main vegetable market means it is always noisy and crowded outside, which is just life in Mumbai. We work as assistants here, mostly keeping track of what comes in and what goes out. The elevator doesn't always work perfectly, so we end up taking the stairs more than we'd like. It’s a small space, mostly filled with boxes and ledgers. We don't do anything too complicated, just making sure the stock levels don't drop too low. Sometimes the heat in the market makes things feel a bit slow, but we keep moving. It is a bit of a climb up to the office, but the view of the station is alright. We’ve been in this building for some time now. Dealing with the vendors downstairs can be a bit of a headache during the morning rush. We just try to keep our head down and get the counting done. It’s not a corporate setup at all. Most days it’s just us and the inventory. We have a small kettle for tea, and that’s about it for perks. The floor gets dusty from all the foot traffic. We just do our best to stay organized in the middle of all the market chaos. It gets tight when we have a big shipment, but we make it work. Most people who work in the building know us as the guys who are always moving crates.
