Sond Bakery Machines

We are out here at E-167 in Section 3 of the Bawana Industrial Estate. This is a real industrial area, so it’s all about warehouses, factories, and heavy machinery moving around. We work with bakery machines, so there is always the sound of metal being moved or power tools being used in the background. The floors are concrete and usually have some scuff marks from the heavy equipment we shift. It’s a large space because those ovens and mixers take up a lot of room. We don’t have a fancy showroom for visitors. If you come to see a machine, you’re seeing it right there on the shop floor where we check everything. It’s dusty and noisy, but that is just how it is in DSIIDC. Most of our guys wear work boots and get their hands dirty every single day. We spend a lot of time making sure the gears and motors are working like they should before anything leaves. It gets very hot in here during the summer, especially when we are testing the heating elements on the larger ovens. We usually have the big shutter doors open to let some air in. People find us because of the sign outside, though the paint is starting to peel a bit from the sun. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just know how these machines work and we spend our time fixing or moving them. It’s a busy place with lots of heavy lifting.
