Working in Agra means dealing with a lot of history and a lot of heat. Our office for Simplex Infrastructures Ltd. is located at 36, Pushpdeep Enclave Extension, right on Bodla Road in Shahganj. It is a busy part of town and the dust from the road usually finds its way inside no matter how much we sweep. We use this space to keep track of our construction projects across the city. It is a practical setup with metal cabinets full of project reports and a few desks that have seen better days. We don't spend much on decorations because we are usually out on the sites anyway. The staff here are locals who know the shortcuts through Shahganj and how to get things done when the traffic gets bad. We have a routine of starting early to beat the worst of the afternoon sun. There is always a pot of tea going and someone is usually complaining about a delayed truck or a broken machine. It is a very human way to work. We don't use fancy jargon or try to sound more important than we are. We are just builders and engineers trying to keep the projects on schedule.
