Our Delhi setup is at 131 D, Pocket F in Mayur Vihar Phase 2. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of shops and apartments around us. Being in Mayur Vihar means we are close to a lot of the major routes, which helps when we need to get to sites across the city. The office itself is pretty cramped. We have desks squeezed in between rows of shelves filled with project binders. It’s the kind of place where you have to move a stack of papers just to find a pen. We don't mind the clutter, though; it shows we are busy. The noise from the street is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend a lot of time coordinating with local authorities and checking on supply chains. Delhi is a tough place for construction because of the regulations and the traffic, so we are always solving some kind of problem. We have a small kettle for tea and coffee in the back. That’s the most important piece of equipment in the office. We don’t wear suits here. It’s usually just jeans and shirts that can handle a bit of dirt. We are a practical bunch. Most of our day is spent looking at spreadsheets or talking to the foremen. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and get through the checklist every day.
