Shiv Traders

Shiv Traders is up on the second floor of WZ-247, No. 653/1 in Madhipur Village. Being on the second floor means we have to walk up and down quite a bit every day. It keeps us moving, I suppose. The office is a straightforward space where we manage the trading side of things. It’s not very large, but we’ve managed to fit in all the desks and cabinets we need for the files. Sometimes the stairs feel longer at the end of a long day when we are tired. From the windows, you can see the rooftops of the other houses in the village and the tangle of wires that run across the street. It’s a typical scene for this part of Delhi. We spend most of our time here looking at ledgers and talking to people on the phone. It can get a bit loud when the neighbors are active, but we are used to it by now. The tea guy comes by around eleven and then again at four, which is a bit of a highlight in the middle of the work. We don't have any big signs or flashing lights. It’s just a plain door with the name on it. Most of our visitors are people we’ve known for years. We keep things simple and just focus on getting through the daily list of chores. It's just a regular workplace for us.
