Shish Shawarma Restaurants

Down in New Friends Colony at number 26, you’ll find Shish Shawarma Restaurants. It’s not a huge place, but we make do with the space we have. New Friends Colony is a busy spot, and there’s always someone looking for a quick bite. We spend a lot of our time standing by the vertical rotisseries, carving meat and making sure the heat is just right. It’s repetitive work, but it needs to be done. The smell of the spices usually drifts out onto the street, which I guess helps people find us. We don’t have a fancy interior with designer lights. It’s mostly just stainless steel and tile because that’s easy to clean. We go through a lot of pita bread and vegetables every single day. The staff at number 26 is a small group. We know each other well and we just get on with it. Sometimes the delivery guys are all waiting at once and it gets a bit crowded near the door, but we manage. We aren’t trying to change the world; we’re just making shawarmas in NFC. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from lunch until late at night. The neighborhood has changed over the years, but we’re still here at the same address, doing the same things we’ve always done. We just keep the knives sharp and the grills turning, waiting for the next person to walk in.
