National Pet World

National Pet World is tucked away in Gali No. 5, right at Pehla Pusta. If you know House No. C-62, that’s where we are, not too far from Shastri Park. It’s a busy little area and we’ve been part of the neighborhood for a good bit now. Our shop isn't very large, so things are packed in pretty tight. We have bags of food stacked up and cages here and there. It smells like sawdust and birdseed most mornings, which I guess is what you’d expect. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the animals and making sure everyone has water. It's a lot of work, honestly. People stop by to pick up stuff for their dogs or to just look at the birds we have in the back. Sometimes the street gets crowded so it’s hard to park, but folks around here just walk over. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything. It’s just a local place where we know most of the people who come in by their first names, or at least we recognize their pets. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock or helping someone out with a heavy bag. We don't try to be anything we're not. It’s just a pet shop in a narrow lane where we try to keep things running every day. It’s loud sometimes when the parrots start up and everyone is talking at once. We just do our best to take care of the animals and help people find what they need.
