If you head over toward the Dilshad Garden Metro Station, you will find our workshop on Street No. 3 in New Seemapuri. We are located at H. No. E/197, and it is usually a pretty noisy place to be. We work with metal all day, so there is a lot of grinding, polishing, and that sharp smell of chemicals hanging in the air. The space is actually quite small, and it gets very cramped with all the raw materials and tools lying around on the benches. We make medals, but it is not some high-tech factory process. It is a very hands-on, messy way to make a living. My clothes are usually covered in metal shavings and grey dust by the time we close up for the evening. We aren't trying to act like some big corporation; we are just a local shop trying to get the orders finished on time for the schools and clubs. Sometimes a machine breaks down or the power cuts out unexpectedly, and we have to finish the engraving by hand. It is a busy street outside, so there is always a lot of shouting and traffic noise coming through the door. We don't have a showroom for people to sit in. If you want to see what we are making, you just have to walk right into the middle of the mess. It is dirty work, but it feels good to see the finished medals.
